u/SpongebobTV Mar 24 '23
Biden literally telling people to break gun safety and end up like that one black girl who went to prison (or was it bc she brought it to someone’s house I forgot)
3
u/Skybreakeresq Mar 27 '23
She left the house to retrieve a firearm, then returned and fired a warning shot she admitted was indeed a warning shot.
2
u/SpongebobTV Mar 27 '23
Tf kinda thinking is that, “oh I got away let me now put my life in danger and others by running back and shooting into the air”
1
u/Skybreakeresq Mar 27 '23
Well her kids were in the house with the baby daddy who she claimed she knew from experience was about to get abusive. So she pre-emptively armed herself in fear and came back and shot a warning shot.
1
u/SpongebobTV Mar 27 '23
Ohhh, alright ima need to read about this bc now I’m confused if I should be mad she went to jail or happy
1
u/Skybreakeresq Mar 27 '23
Its kinda both.
I get removing yourself and arming up when you see him start to twist off but before he's legally actionable.
I get going back in for your kids if he's abusive.
I do not get a warning shot, if he's abusive let him have it.
And since she did a warning shot, she has no legal protection and the rules against warning shots are there for GOOD reason. Not the least of which is she is plunking bullets in poor backstops (wall) in the house her kids are in in a residential neighborhood.49
u/reallynunyabusiness Mar 23 '23
Someone once told me that racking the shotgun will send a message, and if that diesn't work you should have the first two shells be rock salt. Asked a local cop what he though of that strategy, he told me that in a situation where you use a gun defensiely you don't wan it to be your story against theirs and if you shoot someone with rocksalt depending on the area you may catch an assault charge.

Because you are exploiting and profiting from capitalism to the extent that you own a home, you are the villain. Because he is a marginalized, disadvantaged poor, the drug addict breaking into your home at 3 am is the victim. Welcome to Clown World, where everything is backwards, upside-down and opposite. Would you like some soy milk and gender reassignment surgery?

One thing that those buzzword lefties often don't get right is, there's no villain, everyone is a victim. Think being a CEO is nothing more than be mean and do whatever the F you want? LMAO, say that to your investors and the broad, no one is free.
Causing harm to someone for the reason that someone's got a better life than you is never a revolutionary act, instead, it's anti-revolutionary and reactionary, people who did that to get benefits is still thinking and moving within the capitalist system.

If you’re not always home, someone could break in and knows there are guns to steal. I’d rather people not know I have guns. My dogs barking is their only warning
11
u/Culsandar Mar 23 '23
I mean they'd probably know that from the range set up in my yard. I doubt they'd need a sign.
In an apartment, sure.

There was a self defense shooting back in May last year that I heard about. This guy started screaming in the middle of the road, shot at cars and then ended up getting shot in the chest I think by an armed hero in self defense. The hero then left, drove home to Gresham, then called 911 to let them know he'd shot the guy lol. Only the crazy shooter was charged, the name of the hero wasn't even released. The cops here aren't too bad on 2A stuff, the DA on the other hand of course...

I don't know their intent, all I know is they broke into the one place I'm always supposed to be safe. They could want to kill me for all I know, I'm not gonna warn them. They should have realized "Maybe I shouldn't break into someone's house in the South East U.S...".
7
u/The_Unclaimed_One Mar 23 '23
Literally. Breaking into someone’s house down here aught to be the LAST thing you ever wanna do. Go to California or NY if you want to steal people’s stuff. Then you know chances are decent there ain’t a gun behind that door. Someone doing a home invasion in the SE’s just a braindead idiot with a death wish
2

What the intercom system is for. Turn it into the carnival insane asylum and taunt them the entire way till they reach the ambush spot. Then drop em
Or just drop em at the door while blasting your song of choice. One or the other
4
u/Pabst_Malone Mar 23 '23
Putting myself on the watch-list here, but it’s a goddamn shame you valued my possessions over your life. If you seek to harm me or my family, or take the things I’ve worked my ass off for, that’s your own goddamn fault, and I’m sorry about your luck.
2
u/BuiltlikeanOrc-a Mar 23 '23
Look, the warning is the sound of the gunshot, is not your fault gunpowder makes it so the bullet moves faster than the warning
3
3
u/ohio_sheepdog Mar 23 '23
I lock my door as a warning to others not to enter my home. If they choose to break my door down to get into my house, they’ve decided that my stuff is worth more than their lives and I will defend my castle with deadly force.

Wifey stumbles home drunk and tries to slip into bed without waking you.
You hear the lock on the door jiggle.
“EHRMAGURD MY TIME HAS COME, I WONT GIVE AWAY MY POSITION!”
bang bang bang thud…
I see no problems with this policy!
10
u/Alcerus I Love All Guns Mar 23 '23
What a tired argument. Nobody is saying that the right answer is to start blasting immediately any time they see a shadow or hear a noise in their home.
You know, you do have the ability to identify your target without yelling "Who's there!?" like a victim in a horror movie.
-8
u/ph1294 Mar 23 '23
Describe exactly how you identify someone on the other side of a door without calling out or opening/letting them open the door?
Also be warned, my “tired argument” is not an imaginary hypothetical, it’s a tragedy that’s played out many times before due to this very mentality.
6
u/Sobbing_Nerd Mar 23 '23
My meme never said that the home invader was on the other side of the door. Also home security cameras and windows near or on doors exist.
-5
u/ph1294 Mar 23 '23
You’re lying to me if the imagined situation isn’t you blasting a home invader from a hiding spot where they couldn’t see you, ergo you ostensibly can’t see them.
If your house is set up with as many cameras as a mega block in judge dredd and you spend all day sitting watching those cameras then power to you.
But in the real world, if your target cant see you, chances are you can’t fully see your target. Fighting a war where PID consists of a uniform and the faceless enemy is to be killed? Great! Blast away! Defending your home that could have any manner of people who you don’t want to kill entering/exiting the premises? You MIGHT want to exercise some caution.
Or just murder your kid. You can always make another, right?
4
u/Sobbing_Nerd Mar 23 '23
You could also id them using a weapon light for a split second and then shoot.
But if your defense is engaging in strawman, attacking me, calling me a liar and a man that would murder my own child and not care instead of refuting my points in avoidance... Then I'll let you die on that hill.
Also the people in my house aren't 6'8" and have sleeve tattoos.
I don't exactly need to study full facial features to know that's someone who isn't meant to be in my home.
-1
u/ph1294 Mar 23 '23
Any action you take to check whether that person is a 6’8” tattooed man (your words) ostensibly will “give away your position”. If you’re not verbally announcing yourself, you’re shining a light on him or taking other action to reveal your position.
Firing from hiding in a civilian context is not only cowardice, it’s asking for poor outcomes.
You clearly know this, and yet you continue to defend your meme that encourages tactically ignorant people to make unsafe decisions. You should be ashamed.
4
u/Sobbing_Nerd Mar 23 '23
Yes that would reveal my position for all of half a second before I kill him. That's the point. My meme was made to enforce the idea of the element of surprise, not blindly shooting at random noises and movement.
1
u/ph1294 Mar 23 '23
I mean I’m certainly the one in the wrong for expecting anything other than edgy content in /r/gunmemes so please don’t take my attack personally, I’m sure you’re not genuinely looking to cause harm, just burning some steam myself.

u/SmuglyGaming Mar 23 '23
Don’t interrupt the circle jerk with logic!
I’m not saying you need to run out shouting ‘who’s there’ like a horror movie character, but make sure you’re getting PID before you just start blasting. Too many wannabe oper8ors are in prison now for shooting their child or spouse thinking they were a burglar.
But given that I’ve seen ‘no quarter, no mercy’ said multiple times in this thread, I’m sure everyone here is totally stable and will think before firing1
u/ph1294 Mar 23 '23
I guaran-fucking-tee if you kill your spouse or child while re-enacting oppums magnum opus from saving private ryan the jail time will be the least of your worries.
