Nooo, only highly trained LEO and military professionals should have access to guns”
The high trained military and LEO “professionals”: Drops gun off roof….

Idk man sounds pretty American to me.....

Surely I'm not the only one seeing an extra layer of irony about it being a St. Patty's Day parade where he dropped the rifle? Maybe he started celebrating early.

u/SUBBROTHERHOOD Mar 24 '23
I thought he was army?
26
u/Meat_Goliath Mar 24 '23
I think he's reserve/guard and his full time gig is cop. He might have quit that since getting all that influencer money for all I know. I only catch a video here and there of his.

u/TankDestroyerSarg Mar 24 '23

And the police's response was along the lines of "it's no big deal, it's a complicated piece of military hardware that someone couldn't use even if they got their hands on it". I hate them so much bros.

u/Jihad_Jack Mar 24 '23

“That’s not very typical. I’d like to make that point”

u/Shawn_1512 Mar 24 '23
Buffalo PD must not think very highly of the residents in that area if they think a bolt action rifle is too complicated for them to operate
23
u/wolfman1911 Mar 24 '23
To be fair, they are New Yorkers. Though I have heard the people that don't live in NYC are much better. I'm pretty sure the tyrannical gun laws are statewide though.
11
u/Chadoner Mar 24 '23
Oh they are def statewide. But majority of buffalo wants to kick NYC out of the state.

Don’t hate them, pity them. They are actually not going to go after their sniper rifle, which means it’s hopefully in the hands of some redneck

u/Lordblue-sky Mar 24 '23
But NY says cops are trained professionals guys.
How can this happen?
26
u/Electronic-Ad-3825 HK Slappers Mar 24 '23
They're "trained", they're far from professionals

u/404-soul-not-found Mar 24 '23
Damn dude.....maybe we SHOULD let the police have all the cool guns. They will be in the hands of civilians in no time.....
16
u/Sin_Fire Mar 24 '23
Just don't give them to the military otherwise they will go to the Taliban
27
u/Rhino676971 Mar 24 '23
I’m serving and I know a good majority of the military are livid about that still, 20 years for what so we could replace the Taliban with the Taliban and give them an entire updated military, I know E-6s with 6 kids that could have come up with a better pull out plan than that.

u/Mr_E_Monkey Mar 24 '23

u/715Karl Mar 24 '23
Police are civilians. Any cop who doesn’t consider himself a civilian shouldn’t be a cop. He should feel welcome to join the army instead of LARPing a soldier though.

u/Jeep-The-Conqueror Mar 24 '23
I think my favorite part about this entire post is that people are more concerned if the gun is ok than the officer.
26
u/oh_three_dum_dum Mar 24 '23
Gotta know if it was worth running away with before they came to get it.
11
7
u/wolfman1911 Mar 24 '23
I figure if the cop had fallen off the building too, the article would have mentioned that. And if he didn't go down with the gun, then I figure he deserves what he gets.
21
u/MummyManDan Mar 24 '23
I like how it fell off a roof rather than he or she dropped it off a roof.
3
u/The_real_laz Remington Regimen Mar 24 '23
The “official story” is that it was mounted on a tripod, the officer wasn’t paying attention, and a stiff breeze blew it over, knocking it off the ledge.
21
18
u/sigm45 Mar 24 '23
The first time I read the title I was trying to figure out why buffalos were having a parade. Then it was what kind of roof you put over a buffalo, followed by confusion on how buffalos even know who St. Patrick was? This picture finally put it into perspective for me. Thank you OP.
13
u/ZeroDark1 Mar 24 '23
There I am walking out of work with my arms outstretched pleading to the Lord above to allow me to afford a rifle, and into my arms I receive a St. Patrick’s day miracle

I read that wrong. I thought it said the BPD sniper fell off the roof, not the rifle.

u/FrostyNegotiation934 Mar 24 '23
Why the fuck was there a sniper on the roof?! This was a Saint Paddy's day parade, the worst that will happen is a few drunken fist fights.
16
u/oh_three_dum_dum Mar 24 '23
Because public events like parades and concerts have been targeted by mass shooters in elevated positions in recent history.
19
u/Cigarsnguns Mar 24 '23
I wouldn't trust a police "sniper" of this quality not to hit a few other people before hitting the perp
18
u/opkraut Mar 24 '23
Yeah there are some crazy snipers out there like the guys who shoot out of helicopters and hit their shots
And then there's this guy. On the bright side he's never gonna hear the end of this because this is the kind of shit you'd get made fun of forever for.
2
u/Sir-Qs-A-Lot Mar 24 '23
This makes me think of the Ukrainian soldier that knocks the mag out of his AK during a speech and tries to cover the area with his hands and act like nothing happened.
2
u/WarOnDurgz Mar 24 '23
Cop "sniper" probably shot that rifle once last year at 50 yards on a flat range.
2
2
u/WarOnDurgz Mar 24 '23
Just low trust society things. We can no longer have nice things like parades without having to prepare for some feral scumbag to shoot it up or drive into it.

Why are there men with sniper rifles at a St.Patrick's day parade? Oh yeah..."For everyone's safety". It's definitely not because the United States, nay the entire world, is becoming a fascist police state. Don't forget your ID papers when you drive your car today.

LE units are so focused on actual gunfights that they do their drop tests out in the field.
