Any other parents struggling with raising children under LSC?

I used to think we were drowning in neoliberal propaganda, but it's so much worse when you have kids, and oftentimes I feel more powerless than ever.

I am 45 and my daughter is 8. I feel like capitalism has hijacked our children's mind, time, and attention.

You want your children to enjoy afternoons and weekends with other kids? Good luck. No one is available. They are in an after school program so that both their parents can hustle more. Or if one of the parents actually has free time, they are taking their kids to enrichment classes (and probably hustling on their laptop while waiting). And if you finally find someone with a kid you can meet at the park, the kid is only there for a short window of time before they are hustling again. Oh, and the parent won't have time to chitchat and enjoy the afternoon with you because they have an earpiece on so they can attend a meeting.

Summers are the worse. My wife and I had the best memories of summers, playing with kids in the woods and river. But it's just more of the same. No one is available, so we end up having to send our kid to several things throughout the year. And my god, they are insanely expensive, and the quality is low.

What does every kid associate with fun? Disney World. And the more times you go, the better your life is. The only way I have avoided Disney infiltrating her mind is by reading so many books with her that her mind has other places to go. Otherwise, if you are typical hustler parent, of course you are going to throw a tablet in front of your kid and let them watch Disney films over and over.

How about public school? It's alright I guess, but you should see how Big Tech has infiltrated them. They learn "technology" on an iPad, and sign up for so many different platforms. Oh, that Epic! Reading app they use? Guess who is on the board of that company? Randi Fucking Zuckerberg.

What do the kids talk about at the bus stop? Hey, who and who's dad just bought a Tesla. "What model?", asks an eager 6 year old? Oh, don't worry. You will find out soon, because his Dad is going to drop off his kid at the bus stop in the Tesla, despite living 5 houses down, so everyone can admire it.

Someone finds out your kid or some other kids likes to do something? Someone is going to start planting the seed in your kid's mind about how to monetize it. Ohhhh, and better yet, how to scale it. They can sell their art, or become a content creator... the possibilities are endless, but god forbid you enjoy a hobby for the sake of it.

The thing is that I cannot always enforce my ideas on my family and oftentimes, I feel the best path is just provide and go with the flow. But that just means flowing into neoliberalmania. I am lucky enough to work from home, and I have an open door policy with my daughter. She can come in and bother me anytime, because if I'm the only one left not hustling in her life, it's better than nothing.

I started reading about Marxism and socialism when I got out of college over 20 years ago, and have managed to maintain some semblance of sanity. I joined several socialist groups over the decades, and that helped. But since raising a kid, I have:

• Bought a nicer car, because it's safer.
• Bought a house in a better school district, which ends up surrounding your family with more upper-middle-class liberals.
• Setup investment accounts to help pay for college.
• Paid a lot of money into enrichment programs, because I'd feel terrible if my ideology ultimately sacrifices my daughter's well-being.

Being a parent under LSC forces you to see so much of the rot in our society up close and it's even sadder because you see the world through the eyes of a young child who deserves to experience the world in a pure manner. Curious how other parents on this subforum feel and how do you handle these things?
