Im thinking about getting a cheap ps4 pro to replace my ps4 slim.

Would I be able to use the same external usb hdd or would I need to re-format and re-download even though theyd be using the same PS account?

My current PS4 Slim has an internal SSD, would i just be able to put this in a PS4 Pro and presumably download any game updates for 4k?

yesterday when i applied thermal paste i put too much so the ps4 was louder than ever. the console at least turned on yesterday but after cleaning it again today it wont turn on. what could i have done wrong? i just checked the prongs on the power supply and it looks fine, none are bent or anything so i want to believe it isnt that. when opening the console up there is these blue ribbon connectors and there’s usually some confirmation that they’re in snug and proper but there’s one that needs to be unlocked and locked again to stay put as it doesn’t go in and stays in like the others. im thinking maybe its not in properly so could that be it? im going to give it a rest today and go in again tomorrow but some advice would be nice as im just unsure what to do.

I had a loud fan noise while running Days Gone, so I decided to replace the fan. I did watch a video guide and followed it meticulously (here is the guide, including reassembly process). After turning it on, nothing seemed wrong until I tried to insert a disc, but it wouldn’t slide in. I did ensure that there wasn’t a disc inside before tearing it down.

The second dis/reassembly was to ensure all cables/ribbons were connected. Everything looked fine. Did I do something wrong? I tore it down when I bought it about a year ago (used, from a store) to remove the carpet in front of the heat sink and redo the thermal paste (which I replaced these times as well, thank you PC Building Simulator), and have had no issues until now.

Does this sound like a user serviceable fix, or should I bite the bullet and send it to Sony?

I’ve had my ps4 pro for a while and I used to play a lot of rdr2. The game looked good but i got like 30 fps all the time. Now I’m playing The Last Of Us Part II and it’s so chunky and laggy it’s unbelivable. I have like 20-30 fps maximum. It’s super disgusting to look at so if anyone has a suggestion please tell me,

On idle and on apps like YouTube or when playing light games like Kingdom Hearts HD collection my PS4 Pro is quiet but when playing heavy games like RE8 it's as loud as it was before I replaced the thermal paste.

Weirdly enough, on RE4 Remake's demo I noticed a significant improvement when I played it right before the thermal paste change and right after.

My PS4 pro is not connecting to the WiFi no matter what, need help

My PS4 is constantly timing out when it tries to connect with my WiFi router. So I researched what I could do, but none of them are working. I've tried: - Restarting the PS4 - Moved the router right next to the PS4 (and disconnected other devices from the wi-fi) - Went into safe mode and reset the database - Turning the the thing completely off and plugged it out for ten minutes and plugged back in - Turning the other devices off the WiFi so it's solely the ps4 that can connect

The only time it connects to the WiFi is if I use the hotspot on my phone and turn on mobile data, but my 4G is running out and I need to update GOW: Ragnarok.

Also it manages to connect to my wifi's IP address but fails endlessly to connect to the internet. Can help on how to makes work it would be great help. Thx

I've been trying to use PS4 remote play but its so laggy on my android mobile (Redmi note 10 pro), but when I use my wife's iphone 11, the input response is fine.

Both mobiles are using the same wifi connection. And If it matters - what mobile specs affect the remote play performance?

The "PS remote play" apps on both devices have the same settings. I'm really curious what affects the performance for future reference when purchasing a new mobile. Thanks in advance!

I was playing Death Stranding on my PS4 Pro and in HDR. Everything looks great. If I go into Rest Mode during the game, it will not be in HDR upon exiting Rest Mode. If I exit the game before going into Rest Mode, then reload the game I get HDR again.

Is this a problem with Rest Mode or the game?

How do I snap the hard drive cover back on ps4 pro?

I got rid of my ps4 about 4 years ago and backed up my save data to a usb stick. I just got a ps4 pro but when I try to restore it only says there is no data found. When I put it in my pc it has PS4 folder and inside it has SAVEDATA and SHARE. How can I get the saves back?

I tried unplugging it from the wall and just unplugging everything but nothing works.

I downloaded the last of us part 2 to my ps4

but

I plugged and unplugged the internet cable so many times the game has been corrupted so my ps4 is stuck at safe mode.

I don't want to reboot my ps4 because it would delete my save files so i connected it's hard drive to my pc but I have no idea how to delete the specific file or how to back up my save files
