Yes.

How? I'm still not seeing it in the control options.

This looks great. Got a question for current players though. Have they fixed the bug where material would just disappear from oxygen and nitrogen collectors? I would fuel them with carbon and I would come back to a unit with zero fuel and zero oxygen. Was so frustrating I just stopped playing the game and moved in to Deep Rock Galactic. Loved the space ships, exploration, etc but these bugs drove me crazy.

I am downloading the game again now. Hoping this update fixed it. If I remember, I will come back here and let you know.

Still bugged. Half my collectors were empty when I got back to homestead from my other bases. So frustrating.

Given how proactive the devs are maybe we can tweet at them or something, really odd how this is still a thing.

Main problem for me is that you have so many updates that you can feel overwhelmed... And kind of lost.

I'm not complaining, but it's just what I think.

Still amazing what they made in these last few years.

This patch literally focused on that. They included a “story so far” to let you know where you left off update-wise to get you quickly up to speed on what’s been added since

I played not too long ago and it was still happening. You have to go offline basically to do any major work with the collectors or refiners.

Still bugged. Loaded up the collectors at all my bases. Cycled back to first base and found about half my collectors empty or still at 1 Nitrogen. So buggy. Was hoping that new auto save part of the update would fix this. Deleted the game again.

The one thing i would love to see: more bioms, extreme and fantastic ones. Maybe even different bioms on planets.

I'm waiting on PSVR 2 to jump back into this game, but this update makes it really hard to wait.

Love the game. But still begging for Gyro Aim to be implemented on PS4/5. Hell, surprised its not on Nintendo Switch during its launch. Guess thats been a common criticism though so I expect eventually they may work it into a future patch.

I've played this game so many times, was also a day one player, and every time I play it again to see the new updates I'm always reminded of the janky ass character control. They've updated and upgraded essentially everything except the way your character maneuvers around. Just the way it looks and feels is laughable. You press Jump to use your jetpack and instead of the jetpack activating at the peak of your jump it waits until falling back down to the lowest point to activate. Mind-blowing. It's such a simple thing but it drives me insane. The transitions from walking/running/turning are so damn janky they instantly remind you what game you're playing, despite however many visual updates they do. If they change(fix) this then the entire game will feel renewed

You press Jump to use your jetpack and instead of the jetpack activating at the peak of your jump it waits until falling back down to the lowest point to activate.

I have bad news for you. That's intentional. There is no jump, when you press the jetpack button it gives an initial boost then continues with less power for the rest of the flight. How powerful that initial boost is depends on your module upgrades.

For you to say there is no jump is silly. Just because your dude doesn't bend his knees and jump doesn't mean it isn't a jump. It's just a jump with a jetpack animation. If it was all jetpack then you would just rise into the air and I'd have no complaints.

It doesn't matter how powerful your jetpack is, flying still only happens after you've fallen from the apex, which is so inefficient and aggravating to see. There are no jetpack upgrades that change this, and it is absolutely bonkers for it to be this way.

I just want them to get rid of the asteroids everywhere in space

4

u/flashmedallion Oct 08 '22

They're no longer everywhere, if that helps

1

u/PhantomGoo Oct 08 '22

That's very helpful yes

did they fix the load distance? I got sick of bases popping in when I should have seen them off in the distance

1

u/flashmedallion Oct 08 '22

It's had an improvement lately. Not perfect but much, much better.

What's the best way to get back into this without all the survival / crafting gameplay?

Can it be played casually just to explore the scenery

2

u/augustine_chacon Oct 09 '22

You can try the new relaxed mode, or creative i think is no grinding.

Yes, absolutely. You don’t really need base building but it helps to manage vast inventories. Especially if you just plan to planet hop. You can create a warp to come back to your base and dump your shit, then return to whatever it was you were doing before.
