The girdle effect. Or the loaded-diaper effect.

41

u/not-finished Oct 07 '22

Yup. Spanx

25

u/Lady_von_Stinkbeaver Oct 07 '22

Uncle Jack from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia showing off his new prosthetic hands.

34

u/RiverKawaRio Oct 06 '22

More of a loading diaper

14

u/uncultured_swine2099 Oct 07 '22

Im thinking they have pot bellies they dont want to show on camera, so they buttoned up a tight suit or dress and are trying to suck in their bellies while not popping the suit/dress open. So essentially a girdle.

6

u/DarthArtero Oct 07 '22

I believe you're right, looking at the top button on dudes jacket, it's screaming in agony

7

u/ResoluteClover Oct 07 '22

Or bullet proof armor?

8

u/brianishere2 Oct 07 '22

Would fit very differently and be very obvious in their suit jackets.

8

u/rsdols Oct 07 '22

I'm pretty sure he was joking these cowards wouldn't go anywhere if they actually felt threatened.

250

u/Top_Application146 Oct 06 '22

He stands just like Trump and it’s not an accident either. He wants to remembered as Trump lite. All Trump, but says less stupid things.

95

u/No_Banana_581 Oct 06 '22

They both wear heels too. Lifts in their shoes push them forward so they need the arms for balance. Edit spelling

59

u/willstr1 Oct 06 '22

The classic half centaur pose, ironically popular with horses asses

18

u/clangan524 Oct 07 '22

I got my first pair of legit cowboy boots recently and I underestimated how high the heel was gonna be. I immediately noticed that I'm leaning forward and balancing against my arms like these knobs. I need to train myself to walk upright in them.

5

u/uglymule Oct 07 '22

can't wait, pants filling

4

u/Kafferkop Oct 07 '22

I think Trump leans more forward in the hip. Like, pushing his butt back. Like a gorilla.

3

u/3personal5me Oct 07 '22

It's an anterior pelvic tilt, caused by sitting too much. Basically, the muscles in his back have shortened, and the muscles in his stomach have gotten longer. Think of it likes his hips always being in the sitting position, so to has to arch his back to hold his torso upright.

DeSantis has a shrine somewhere with pictures of Trump posted on it and a mirror in the middle. When he goes to it at night, he dons a blond wig, paints his face orange, and stands in front of the mirror while repeating to himself “I am Donald Trump.”

Change my mind.

2

u/Top_Application146 Oct 07 '22

This Reddit. Nobody changes their mind you silly Billy.

2

u/rsdols Oct 07 '22

He failed on the says less stupid things part. And that's fucking saying something.

2

u/HordeMaster-50_12 Oct 07 '22

but says less stupid things.

Since when?

439

u/SluttyPoop Oct 06 '22

They think it’s a trump power pose. Pathetic.

277

u/uuuuuhhhh_okay Oct 06 '22

I call it "Toddler Stance" because they seem unsure of gravity.

119

u/SluttyPoop Oct 06 '22

This is the “I just shit my pants in public as an adult and I’m frozen in fear on what to do” stance in actuality.

12

u/bunkie18 Oct 07 '22

Yep! Poopy in my Depends! 😂

35

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

That jacket of his seems unsure of that button

13

u/Jitterbitten Oct 06 '22

It's sewn on with titanium thread.

2

u/BrianNowhere Oct 07 '22

Lookin' like a hurricane hit you. That suit screamin', "Ronnie, I don't fit you!

3

u/Markamanic Oct 07 '22

Front half of a centaur

67

u/IA-HI-CO-IA Oct 07 '22

Their new “hosts” are still adjusting to the controls.

14

u/sumunsolicitedadvice Oct 07 '22

He asked for water. Sugar water. It was kinda odd. He didn’t ask for lemonade or ice water or regular water or tap water—

2

u/IA-HI-CO-IA Oct 07 '22

Wearing a brand new Edgar suit.

8

u/suckercuck Oct 07 '22

Hello fellow humans

3

u/IA-HI-CO-IA Oct 07 '22

Boy, we sure could go for basking in the sun on a nice warm rock, and maybe a nice skin shed. Am I correct fellow humans?

2

u/suckercuck Oct 07 '22

<licks eyeball>

9

u/SluttyPoop Oct 07 '22

This is good.

4

u/Lady_von_Stinkbeaver Oct 07 '22

I remember when Fry's cosmic Brain Slug died of malnutrition.

1

u/IA-HI-CO-IA Oct 07 '22

Yes, yes I do. We aren’t that lucky, they learned that lesson years ago. They have a separate food source now.

60

u/jizzlevania Oct 07 '22

Trump's posture is the classic frontotemporal dementia stance. They're literally posing like they are in the end-stages of mental decline because their base thinks it's a sign of power. Hope Bidens weed maneuver can keep desantis in florida, away from pennsylvania ave.

9

u/carryoutsalt Oct 07 '22

It is because of all the dirty tricks they have up their sleeves

5

u/Lady_von_Stinkbeaver Oct 07 '22

I wonder if it's his shoe lifts as well.

I remember a Saville Row tailor pointing out that Trump's weird Smooth Criminal lean pushes the fabric of the jacket off his belly, in a poor attempt to hide his obesity.

35

u/weirdoldhobo1978 Oct 07 '22

Trump's "power stance" looks a lot like Pick's disease, aka degenerative frontotemporal dementia.

16

u/SluttyPoop Oct 07 '22

That and he’s just a fat and awkward shaped piece of shit.

14

u/Red_orange_indigo Oct 07 '22

Let’s not do this. There’s nothing about his pose that is characteristic of fat people. His skinny wife is doing it in the photo right next to him.

2

u/SluttyPoop Oct 07 '22

Was talking about trump being a fat piece of shit.

"Fat man in a little coat." - Tommy Boy

8

u/SluttyPoop Oct 07 '22

It does look like that button is working hard to prevent that coat from just busting open.

11

u/SatanicNotMessianic Oct 07 '22

They’re standing like centaurs after cosmetic surgery removed the horse part.

6

u/djpromo_vqs Oct 07 '22

They're auditioning to be on an episode of "Jacob's Patience: Real People, Fake Arms" with Jimmy Fallon.

3

u/SluttyPoop Oct 07 '22

I’d rather have an alien with tentacles in the government than DeSantis.

5

u/Woobie Oct 07 '22

Does DeSadness wear lifts in his shoes, like the orange one?

3

u/old-father Oct 07 '22

That's a good question. He is relatively short (for a president). He is 5'9". The average for all presidents is 5'11" but the trend has been for taller presidents over the last few decades.

Based on some photos I've seen of DeSantis next to other politicians, it seems likely he is using lifts, stilts, or some bizarre form of puppetry. I guess there isn't much he can do. About his voice so they "fix" the thing they can.

2

u/HarlesD Oct 07 '22

Is that why DeSantis suit is so big?

113

u/canarchist Oct 06 '22

When you get the economy skin suits from the lizard tailor.

8

u/Dragos_Drakkar Oct 06 '22

Look more like they came from Discount Dan's.

76

u/ImpureThoughts59 Oct 06 '22

Monsters feeling itchy in their people suits

21

u/Maij-ha Oct 06 '22

Slytheen’s strike again

2

u/thepicklejarmurders Oct 07 '22

Yeah but Trump doesn't fart all the time. He just shits his pants.

2

u/Lady_Grey_Smith Oct 07 '22

Maybe he’s the evolved slytheen. Edited for alien spelling.

1

u/blockguy143 Oct 07 '22

I thought it was slitheen fuck

2

u/Gsteel11 Oct 07 '22

Sugar water!

u/Honest_Its_Bill_Nye Oct 06 '22

"I want you to think I'm fit and ripped but the girdle under my clothes makes it impossible for me to put my arms down."

It's the stick up the ass that causes that...

20

u/Cirieno Oct 06 '22

Lizard people

64

u/CrowShotFirst Oct 06 '22

My serious guess is he's wearing a bulletproof vest

35

u/97runner Oct 06 '22

I agree. Kevlar is stiff and if the arms are not scalloped right it will cause you to do what they are doing. They probably have sized it down, too, to not be as obvious - so there’s a girdle effect happening as well.

24

u/nowyourdoingit Oct 07 '22

I've seen hundreds of guys wear soft armor and plates and I've never seen anyone stand like this. I've never even seen a fat cop in soft armor stand like this. This is intentional posturing for cameras

27

u/97runner Oct 07 '22

I wore Kevlar for work for over 20 years. I’ve seen plenty of improperly fitted people and those not used to wearing it stand like they are standing. I stand by my belief they are wearing some sort of vest, be it bullet or knife.

21

u/nowyourdoingit Oct 07 '22

I wore it to work for 40 years and never once saw anyone standing like that.

https://youtu.be/AlW-xqBJeY8?t=391

You can watch video of them from the events those photos are from. They have normal range of motion and are seen standing normally most of the time. This forward lean, arms out, straight ahead pose is a position they're affecting to make their shoulders and heads appear larger than their waste in photos.

2

u/RJ_MacreadysBeard Oct 07 '22

While standing (honourably) by your belief, good sir, do you find yourself leaning forward with your arms holding an invisible wheelbarrow per chance?

6

u/PuppiPappi Oct 06 '22

NUH UH! He couldn't because ummm.. see lib-cucks don't have guns which is why they are trying to take them away. And umm Republicans are God's children and they love DeSantis because he's a child of the lord and would never ever want to hurt him even though he's actively fucking his own constituents!

4

u/Wazula42 Oct 07 '22

My guess was a girdle so he looks less fat.

3

u/cusehoops98 Oct 07 '22

So what is she doing?

→ More replies

13

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '22

Bullet proof vests?

Edit: zooming in on the woman (wife?), she looks like she has something rectangular under her dress (torso area).

3

u/EarlGrey1806 Oct 07 '22 edited Oct 07 '22

This is what I was thinking. Ron’s suit jacket barely buttons. As a Floridian who is not one of his fans I can imagine why his security would suggest protection.

edit - just to be clear… I’m NOT advocating for violence. I may not agree with his hard right persona but I hope he is ‘taken down’ in the next election cycle as opposed to any physical harm or injury.

12

u/_Life_Finds_a_Way_ Oct 06 '22

They look like they’re unsuccessfully auditioning to be extras in a zombie movie.

11

u/VenaticisVoid Oct 06 '22

It's how they hold those bags of dicks under their armpits

8

u/Zer0guy56 Oct 06 '22

My favorite quote, that my co-workers and I quote all the time, applies here:

"When I was human... I am human, still. But I was just referring to myself in the past. Not that I was not human." - Mark Zuckerberg(human™)

4

u/Primordial_Stump Oct 06 '22

Ron Desantis looks like The Hamburglar whose mom told him he was handsome.

3

u/snotwimp Oct 06 '22

reminds me of Edgar from Men In Black

3

u/hazier_riven0w Oct 06 '22

It’s the exact same way Trump stands, emulating their idol.

3

u/AliceAnne1 Oct 06 '22

Good grief. They look like their suits are too tight to lower their arms.

3

u/DoxieLove10612 Oct 06 '22

It looks like she’s wearing something boxy under the top part of her dress. BP vest? Could he be as well? Just random guess

3

u/Isamosed Oct 06 '22

He’s got Trump Stance because he thinks it makes him look powerful. She’s had a recent bout of breast cancer and lemme tell ya, a lot of things can be affected once the docs commence to cutting. Could be tissue expanders, could be side effects from axillary dissection, could be displaced muscle depending on any reconstruction. Having said all that, zooming in, it looks to me like she’s wearing a plate carrier. I don’t know who’d want to kill her though.

3

u/cunt_isnt_sexist Oct 06 '22

These robots from Elon Musk are terrible looking.

3

u/MonCountyMan Oct 06 '22

Looks like 20lbs of shit in a 5lb sack.

2

u/Tar-Nuine Oct 06 '22

They misinterpreted the saying, and have whole-assed the stick.

2

Yes, they are from the Trump line of arms.

Lee Press on Limbs!

2

u/mikeymiggz Oct 07 '22

The "don't say gay" pose

2

u/MifflerTripod Oct 07 '22

it’s the “we love wearing our matching vibrating butt plugs in public” pose.

2

u/weirdoldhobo1978 Oct 07 '22

That suit button looks like it's holding on for dear life.

2

u/bryanthawes Oct 07 '22

They are a family of spineless jellyfish. Well, not jellyfish but a closely related cousin to the jellyfish. They're just in support braces so they can pilot their meat mecha while maintaining field of vision.

2

u/TheMindfulnessShaman Oct 07 '22

The right to bear arms.

2

u/squidaor1 Oct 07 '22

u/Dainaz2021 Oct 07 '22

This is the pose of alien lizard people being out in public, looks a lot like the pedophile predator shuffle you see trump using all the time.

2

u/bignick222 Oct 07 '22

They are aliens from outer space, building a wall will not help It’s the long arm race of some distance world’s hahaha

2

u/Impossible_Series412 Oct 06 '22

Remember everything they say is projection. GQP says democrats aren't human to cover 4 the fact that Republicans aren't human. DeSantis family just hasn't adjusted to the human arms yet.

2

u/Wrong_Ad_3355 Oct 06 '22

Butt plug…I’m guessing.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

Seems very reminiscent of a video game character stuck T-Posing before animations are set up.

1

u/Other-Cap-9340 Oct 06 '22

Lizard people!

1

u/digital_disposition Oct 06 '22

Sure looks like a puppet stance to me.

1

u/Tiger_Striped_Queen Oct 06 '22

Maybe they’re secret snake people still trying to figure out how to make their mechanical arms move.

1

u/i_do_it_all Oct 06 '22

I think there just got a new body. I think they are aliens.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

They’re aliens it’s obvious

1

u/InternationalEmu299 Oct 06 '22

She’s dressed like a wife in Handmaid’s Tale

1

u/Cheapntacky Oct 06 '22

That's the, "My suit jacket is too small and I'm trying not to make it obvious" pose. If he moves his arms it will pull his sleaves up or strain the jacket. Not sure why his wife is doing it.

1

u/Mythical_Atlacatl Oct 06 '22

Are these just awkwardly timed images? Or do they stand like this for extended periods?

They must go to the same power pose trainer and likely misunderstood something

Like this is pose for using a computer but they straighten their arms

1

u/LeShoooook Oct 06 '22

Why does this suddenly make me think of Peacemaker?! The butterflies are real!

1

u/readditredditread Oct 06 '22

In their natural lizard form, they have different limb proportions, so when they put on their skin suits, it takes a while to adjust and act normal.

1

u/Brave-Emu3113 Oct 06 '22

They look like zombies to me. Maybe that's why he's so bad at being governor.

1

u/toofargone1414 Oct 06 '22

Girdles Not joking

1

u/jessejamesvan111 Oct 06 '22

Do they do this because the orange guy does? Super weird.

1

u/smaartypants Oct 06 '22

Rhonda Santis and wifey.

1

u/Zealousideal-Tart-30 Oct 06 '22

It’s the I am a complete moron stance

1

u/Scheme-Brilliant Oct 06 '22

I think it's formally called the "Zombies want brainnnnzzzzzz" pose

1

u/Ddlj75 Oct 07 '22

They're totally lizard people. 🦎

1

u/Floof2100 Oct 07 '22

Corset too tight probably

1

u/bd2270 Oct 07 '22

His wife is really a male. That’s a male pose so she definitely has a penis that is inserted into his anus every night.

1

u/sleepyjohn00 Oct 07 '22

They need to get a better tailor for their human-suits.

1

u/marybethjahn Oct 07 '22

That’s the “I’ll rip the sleeves out of my suit coat if I put my arms down because it it’s too small” pose; these GOP slobs all need a tailor

1

u/owningmclovin Oct 07 '22

Everyone on the TP stage is wearing a thinner suit than their body needs.

1

u/zaderatsky Oct 07 '22

Looks like somebody sewed the sleeves of their clothes on upside down.

1

u/Mr_A_Rye Oct 07 '22

They both look like they just came off the rack.

1

u/Infamous_Smile_386 Oct 07 '22

He's a Reptilian, obviously.

1

u/dattwell53 Oct 07 '22

Too much deodorant

1

u/anyoutlookuser Oct 07 '22

Like a big bug in a Edgar suit.

1

u/Wazula42 Oct 07 '22

I think he's wearing a girdle.

1

u/nonstoppoptart Oct 07 '22

This is the standing pose of every action figure I've ever seen. GI Schmoes.

1

u/bennynthejetts16110 Oct 07 '22

Seems like a lizard person may stand this way?

1

u/Robpaulssen Oct 07 '22

John Oliver said he looks like he's wearing a suit under his suit

1

u/DMShinja Oct 07 '22

Do you know the famous portrait of Napoleon with his hand in his coat? Napoleon used it to let others know he was in a secret society but only insiders understood. Same thing here. This is how club short buss members communicate

1

u/ConvivialKat Oct 07 '22

I don't know about him, but she looks like her bra is riding up.

1

u/The_Ghola_Hayt Oct 07 '22

Also probably walk with their arms just hanging down straight.

1

u/Comdr_Bill_Norton Oct 07 '22

DeSatan really needs to go see the tailor in hell. The devil himself, I am sure, wears fitting clothes and not hand me downs.

1

u/Everettrivers Oct 07 '22

They went to the Zuckerberg school of normal humans acting normally.

1

u/Just_NickM Oct 07 '22

Ron DeSantis: The Fart you Shouldn’t Have Trusted

1

u/glitterkittyn Oct 07 '22

Is this what alien reptiles think humans do with their arms while they stand? Or just people playing a role they aren’t completely comfortable being? As in, they know they’re narcissistic fools. Just size up my man. Desantis claps and that suit ripping so loud.

1

u/TheForceofHistory Oct 07 '22

This is the result of a hot new surgery to convert you cursed leftist arm to another right arm.

Left arm Transmorgification is tricky.

1

u/dat_lpn_lifetho Oct 07 '22

Maybe the attempt to say democrats are blood drinking lizard people is really just an attempt to stop people from looking at them and realize they are blood drinking lizard people in human suits. Side note, everybody knows lizards like wearing white booties... just saying.

1

u/tdandevir Oct 07 '22

Good afternoon fellow humans. Let's go eat some batteries I mean human food.

1

u/hastingsnikcox Oct 07 '22

My theory: recently reanimated corpses!

1

It's called the Dubya - very popular amongst brain-damaged Republicans. Supposed to make you look powerful.

How is the internet not full of people claiming that these evil motherfuckers are lizard demons from another dimension??

1

u/Treacle123 Oct 07 '22

Well, they certainly didn’t just get brains.

1

u/WillBoling Oct 07 '22

Or the arms in their people suits don’t quite fit their lizardly arms too good.

1

u/thatposhcat Oct 07 '22

That's a reference pose. Their animations haven't loaded yet

1

u/the-practical_cat Oct 07 '22

Starting to think maybe the lizard people are real after all.

1

u/WileyQuixote42 Oct 07 '22

Can this be a new thing, like planking?

Can we all post a bunch of super awkward looking pics that make it look like we just slipped into a new human suit, and it’s still a little stiff?

What do we call it?
