What is /r/interestingasfuck?
/r/interestingasfuck (or iaf) is a subreddit for sharing anything that is interesting-as-fuck. This is a curated community, meaning the moderators of the subreddit have the final say on what is and isn't interesting as fuck. This is not the place to post anything and everything.
1. Posts must be IAF
The content of a post (an image/gif/video/article) must depict what the title says.
Example: A title saying Usain Bolt ran the fastest 100m dash on record can not have the content of an image of Usain Bolt crossing the finish line. The content would need to be a video/gif of the race where he set the record.
This is a purely subjective rule. Just because you find something IAF does not mean anyone else will, and therefore it could be removed. It's impossible to define everything that could be considered IAF, but for a general idea browse the top posts of all time from this subreddit. If the first thing you think when you're viewing your post/content is not "wow that's interesting/neat/cool" then you should message modmail to double check that your post belongs here.
It's easier to define what isn't IAF, here are most of the things that are NOT IAF.
Things that are submitted to /r/mildlyinteresting, /r/interesting, /r/notinteresting, /r/memes, /r/shitposts, and similar subreddits are not interesting. If you're posting content from any of those subreddits your post will in all likelihood be removed.
If people think "aww, that's cute", "wow that's funny", "wow that was such a kind action by them" then it does not belong, remember content needs to be interesting first.
Social media posts, meaning twitter, facebook, instagram, tiktok (for the most part), tinder or other dating apps, random text messages, etc.
Videos/gifs with added sound/music are not allowed as well. If your video/gif is interesting please remove the added music/sound effects and then submit it here. (this especially includes tiktoks)
Art or things you've made are not iaf, if you are here to promote/sell your art/yourself you will be banned
Porn, shock gore, or other content that is more "NSFW" than interesting.
Note: Breaking this rule will usually mean your post is removed. You are unlikely to be banned unless you extremely violate this rule.
- If needed provide a credible source.
If your post title can not be proven 100% and easily by the content of your post then you must provide an additional source.
2. Titles Must be descriptive
Titles should describe the content of the post. If you're going to claim facts/interesting as fuck stuff in the title the image/gif/video/article/content should show that claim in some way.
Titles with click bait are not allowed
Titles like "top 10 X" are not allowed
Exaggerations/personal opinions are frowned upon and will most likely cause your post to be removed. If you have an opinion feel free to share it in a comment on your post
Titles that "piggy back off other posts are not allowed. Your title should stand on it's own without needed to reference other popular posts
Example: "Since we're posting windows...here's mine!" will be removed and you may be banned.
- The title should just depict the content, no "fluff", where you're cross posting it from,
Note: breaking this will get your post removed and a temp ban in most cases. Multiple violations or egregious violations will increase the length of your ban
