This season will be telling for Dray, given this. You guys probably didn’t forget but he thinks he’s a max player, which he’s totally not. Poole probably does deserve a bigger contract than him, too. If Dray really sees that as taking from his pockets or something, it could be an interesting season.

Or Dray will be full of drama like usual and still be super impactful for you guys, like he usually is.

9

u/SelfImportance Nuggets Oct 06 '22

Does Draymond really believe he’s a max player or is he just saying that to try and boost his value?

11

u/krossoverking Lakers Oct 06 '22

He believes he's the best defensive player in history. My bet is that he's felt that way since Rudy got his money.

The reality it thus: Either Klay, Dray, Poole, or Wiggins has gotta go. Is going to go. The cap gods wont allow for any other outcome…The league values shooting, and athletic wings who can score and defend. Dray did not do himself any favors yesterday, Edit to say: He didn’t DO anything during last year’s Finals run either.

He’s not a max player, but he may be looking for the Kobe deal—-but they don’t love you like that Dray. Splash Bros (marketable) Poole Party (marketable) Wiggins—2nd best player/best defender—also Maple Jordan.

Yep.

180

u/AnotherStatsGuy Pelicans Oct 06 '22

The luxury tax is designed for this. To be clear the Warriors avoided reckoning the last two times. First with the spike and the second time with all of the injuries making it really easy to go young, cheap, and draft-centric around Steph, Klay, and Dray.

3

u/CO_PC_Parts Timberwolves Oct 06 '22

The next cba should have a huge influx from gambling money but I have a feeling they will do a smooth cap raise this time, last time the players voted against it but I think it’ll pass this time.

Warrior fans are definitely in for a rude awakening about how valuable Draymond actually is to the team tho.

They’ve had the 2nd and 5th best adjusted defensive rating over the past 2 seasons and that’s definitely not Curry’s doing.

Everyone’s quick to call him washed (which he kinda is) but their defence will take a massive hit if he leaves

Whatever it was, it likely started in Japan. Watch the latest Draymond Green pod where he said with emphasis that he loved seeing Poole get humbled by Steph and Klay in the three point contest. You gotta look at his body language and face expressions when he said it. If you know then you know. It's clear to me what type of time he was with that comment. You wouldn't care to see a person humbled if you didn't think they thought they were way bigger than what they are and it was annoying to you.

That had to carry over when they returned.

33

There are ways to trash talk without everyone fucking ragging on you at the drop of a hat. Dude probably got a bit of an ego built up over the last year and the egos of dray and klay didn’t like that so much.

37

u/kamekaze1024 Oct 06 '22

Shit if Klay and Dray are in agreement that definitely changes the equation.

58

u/ElectricalKeyboard San Francisco Warriors Oct 06 '22

Draymond has notoriously picked fights with everyone in practice, this isn't anything new. One big fight with Klay for example:

"Draymond f---ed up practice and s---," then-Warriors center Marreese Speights says. "Draymond's a good guy, but I think at the end of the day, it hurt the whole chemistry of the year." One player in particular, he says, took much of the heat: "Draymond and Klay got into it a lot."

Throughout the season, Green, in the guise of motivation, would berate his co-workers during games and practices; on multiple occasions he had to be separated from teammates.

Draymond has had a high profile fight with someone the season following a title every 3 years

2016: Loud fight with Kerr in the locker room at halftime of the famous OKC game

2019: KD

2022: Poole

So basically what this tells us is we will lose in the finals this year but we will win the title in 2024-25 season followed by Draymond fighting with Kuminga that offseason

Steph literally carried his ass most of this finals.

You don't know how to watch basketball if that's what you think. We had the best record in the league before Draymond got hurt and they we were .500 without him.

Do you actually watch the games or just review the box score to get your opinion?

Poole is an annoying bitch and Dray is an out of control goon so it all adds up. Surprised it hasn't happened before.

Poole probably let him know they're going to keep him instead of Draymond.

Green needs to be moved on, he's past his prime by a long way. The Warriors got lucky he played some offence in finals.
